Engine ID
« on: October 14, 2012, 03:27:49 PM »
I am very lazy. I was given a ready to go plane but no engine. The mounting bolts are there. I would much rather find the engine than re-fit the plane for one of mine. It does not seem to have been a fox, enya, or os. The mounting pattern does not fit any of these.
It has a long nose & a K&B 40 is about the right nose lenght but not the right bolt pattern. Plane has a Veco decal on the nose. The plane is a smoothie.

The measurements are about:

9/16 fore & aft for the mounting bolts.
1 & 3/16 between the engine mounts.
1 & 3/4 between the engine bolts port & starboard
1 & 7/16 from the forward mounting bolt to the forward surface of the prop driver.

Any good guesses?

Veco ? 31?  35?  shaft extension?

If the numbers are accurate, it does not match anything in either of my lists.
