Title: Engine deal too good to miss?
Post by: Dave Hull on October 27, 2018, 12:21:20 AM
I'm tempted, but can't afford it.

I haven't figured out why it appears to have a spark plug, though....

Curious as to why you would think that?
Champion made glow plugs that looked like spark plugs...I imagine others did as well

Not to a collector.  Looks like one of the first Fox 35's. D>K

May not be that old, three bolt back plate, six bolt head, later model needle valve and taller venturi with marking for second ( multi speed needle valve).

It is a 25, and who knows, he may just get it. I have seen some crazy things on the bay. If some one wants it for their collection, all bets are off. You do not see a lot of those old 25's, I think that is what he is counting on.

Trouble with collectors is that they are rapidly diminishing. It may come to the day when no one wants your old lead anchor. Same as has happened to old ignition engines. You can't even donate them to the Smithsonian as I read that they have about 5/6 really great collections.

Engine collectors come and go.  But as the older guys fade away, younger ones get interested.  The same collections are passed from one generation to the next.  Repair parts will become impossible to find, so the old engines will just sit on someone's shelf in display.

Along the lines of this thread, has you guys noticed what Norvel engines are going for on eBay? I have seem some auctions go well over 100 bucks. Are they not available anymore from NV on line anymore?
  Type at you later,

The website nvengines.com is still up and running.  All but the 25cl are available at competitive prices.  I haven't tried order one yet.
