Title: Engine choices ???
Post by: Leester on August 26, 2006, 10:18:36 PM
I just received my F-94C Starfire kit from Richards kits, Wing span is 40 with a 26" length no squares are given on the instructions. Larry suggested a 25 size of which I have the OS LAS and FP avaiable, BUT I like what I've heard about the B-25 and if it preforms like my B-40 I'm going to order one from SShobbies. The Starfire is a repro of the Sterling S-10 kit, anybody have the Sq's for this? I'm guessing around 300. Would a FP 20 be better or go with the extra grunt?  Thanks

Don't forget you will have another LA .25 soon.

Hi Lee,

I have a Golden State Models kit of the F-94 Starfire.  It's very nice and I would guess, as the wood selection was excellent, that it would compare somewhat to Richard's kit.

It is around the Ringmaster/Yak-9 type and will pretty much fly like those.

So, any engine that you might consider for a Ringmaster would be a good choice IMHO.

Brodak 25 sounds great from what I hear about them, or the LA 25.  Nothing wrong with the FP 20 if you tone it down with Brett's set up.
