Title: Empty thinner cans.

I have several quart size thinner cans that I've emptied, is there any other use for them?

I use the empty quart cans to "part out" gallon jugs of Nitrate and thinnner, and also for fuel so I don't have to open the gallons so often.

Hi ,

I cut the side out (bend over the sharp edges or tape) and use them for smaller parts containers , when doing model engine work .
It comes with a built in pouring spout , too .

 y1 I think this is correct. Haze-mat doesn't apply to quart containers. Therefore they are useful for shipping fuel say to the Nat's. I hope others who are knowledgeable on this will confirm what I said.  :##  Chuck

When looking for material to make some fuel tanks, I found the material was thinner in the quart cans then the gallon. Once the ends were cut off I had enough material to make a 7 ounce fuel tank.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Good information for a cheapskate,scrounger,cobbler, and tinkerer like me to have.

I use them for fuel storage and taking fuel to the field. That way I don't expose all my fuel. Also use them to mix and store model diesel fuel in.

Recently, I took maybe 30 empty gallon cans (fuel, thinner and dope) to the dump. They told me to make sure the caps were off and they were "dried out". The have a recycle bin for them. It's amazing how they stack up. I keep a few around for some of the things listed above, but still had a lot that had accumulated over the past few years.

Another good source for straps to hold on mufflers and tanks ( profile mount) is the stainless steel band that holds the top of the handle on a Mr Coffee style pot. Already comes in a nice straight narrow strip and is strong.
