Embedding Youtube video in posts--problems
« on: April 30, 2008, 12:22:21 PM »
This probably isn't the correct spot, but I'm not sure what forum is, but I am having problems trying to embed a youtube video in my post in the Electric forum.I thought I followed the same procedure as "Rootbeard" did on his Twister post down below in this forum ----click the youtube button, and then paste the embedded string that Youtube gives you to link to other sites between the youtube directives.
But it obviously didn't work for me so I was wondering if there is something obvious I am missing.

Thanks

That is the way it is suppose to work.
You may want to make sure you are using the embedded link and not the URL to the site. That might be your problem.

Open your youtube video and use the embedded link and not the URL in the address bar. If all else fails you can just post the URL link.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5lDyeoh-s_w&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5lDyeoh-s_w&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>   = embedded link

Thanks Paul. Well it looks like I did it correctly, but still no cigar!

Thanks Robert, that worked! Now the video of the flight appears embedded in the post (down in the Electric Forum).
