For any of you who subscribe to Flying Models, there is a "guest" article in the Nov 2011 issue under Allen Brickhouse's by-line. At Allen's request and in response to numerous request on electric power systems for Control Line, I wrote the first of a two-column posting intended to help potential new ECL'ers understand what they are getting into! Part 1 offers the "30,000 foot view" on electric components, Part 2 will touch on ideas for a first electric airplane.
I am posting this in the "General" section because these articles are intended for the (potential) newcomer to ECL. These two articles, a visit to "List Your Set-ups" over in the Electric Forum, and some help & "coaching" from your local ECL-er (or those here in SH) should help steer you in the right direction...

Dennis, Big Art has had castor oil and nitro in his veins since balsa was discovered. Plus as I recall, your whole family has been involved in modeling for many years. What is your dad's feeling about e-flight as applied to P/A?

THANKS Guys!
Doc, I am looking forward to that day!
Dick: Dad has always been a tough competitor and wanted to do things the best possible way. For Stunt that means demdable power flight after flight - thus he is VERY HAPPY with electrics, and who we got them working so quickly in every size.
