Title: Electric GROUND FAULT finished
Post by: Mike Griffin on March 29, 2016, 03:31:01 PM
Just finished my GROUND FAULT.  This is Igor Burger's TINY, which was a .15 sized model, enlarged to a .25 size and renamed the GROUND FAULT.  The enlargement was done by Bob Kruger.

Mike,

How did you hinge the control surfaces? I see no daylight!

Charles I used the Ultracote to make the hinges for the flaps. I cut them 1" wide and 1-1/2" long and placed them right next to each other to give me a sealed hinge line.  People refer to them as "Monokote" hinges but I do not use Monokote brand, I use Ultracote brand.

On the elevator I did the same thing only I used Dacron hinges, doped them down and then painted over them.

That's really nice Mike.   I'll bet it is going to fly great.  There are some videos of Igor flying his "middle" which is basically a full fuse version, and he sure flies a sharp pattern with it.   Nice to have a modern, smaller plane available.

Thank you Brent.  I am just waiting for a decent day to go fly it.  We have not had good flying weather lately.

Well don't feel lonesome about the weather.  The plane looks like it should do the job and I like the color scheme.    H^^

Hello Mike Griffin, I sure like your Electric Ground Fault it is a nice looking airplane for a 25 engine and or electric power. I reminds me of a small version of a Sig Twister or Sig Banshee with a tapered leading edge on the wing with a Flite Streak style rudder it looks so cool my friend and I bet it is a good flyer too. Thanks ringmaster and have a great day.
