Yeah, we had the contest. Light turnout as could be expected, but we have had light turn outs for the last several years. Everyone is leaving the midwest! Just not that many contest flyers out there any more..
Saturday had scale , old time stunt and profile. I think we had two in OTS, and three in profile. Allen Goff and Mike McHenry came from Indy with some nice scale models, and stuck around for PAMPA classes on Sunday. Sunday we had one Intermediate pilot and three experts and I think we were finished by 11:30! I did have the time to get a young man soloed on a ToughBaby as part of his Scout aviation merit badge efforts. Took about 6 flights before he was able to fly two from take off to empty tank. Now he's working on a Veco Brave that his Grandfather had been storing since he bought it in the 60's. A few more sessions with the ToughBaby and he should be able to handle the Brave.
All in all, We had a better turnout for our Anniversary Fun Fly!
