Elec starter batteries 12 volt

 As I am not sure where this should go so here it is, as the caption says where can I get a rechargeable battery 12 volts for my "electric finger"  I am seeking advice from guy's with experence for good advice, all help will be appreciated..  Thanks a lot

Your local motor cycle shop should have smallish 12 volt batteries.

I recently bought a battery for exactly the same reason. It is 12 volt 7ah fully rechargeable.

Unfortunately, I am in Australia so of no real help to you. But, I can tell it works a treat and cost $27 Australian, under $19US!

Brodaks is selling similar for $35. The one I have looks exactly the same and has exactly the same dimensions.

I originally charged it after every flying day but it only went on the charger for 2 minutes! So I left it for 3 flying days and it took 3 minutes. I have a 10 amp 7 stage charger, originally bought for a boat battery, I am not up with electrical stuff so if it is the wrong charger or I am doing something wrong I guess I will find out down the line but at this stage I am very happy with the battery.

Check security companies, these sized batteries are commonly used as household backup security system supply. Also Craigs list? I found mine on Gumtree, a selling platform similar to Craig's list in Australia.

Still lovin' my Sullivan starter with Makita 18v. battery pack. I posted pictures on SH and all the info needed to get the setup together. Didn't have time to search for that thread, but "Sullivan Starter Makita battery" seems likely to work. It's awful nice to have it in one lump, without any wire to get in the prop or landing gear. I considered going with a LiPo, but the charger would have been more expensive than the battery.    Steve

PS: You can buy 12v x 7amp gel cells at most any hardware or home improvement store. They sell them for alarm systems and emergency exit lights. A few bucks more than Tower Hobby sells them, perhaps, but no wait, no shipping charges.

I re bat nine different UPS every two years

Abat and many other on line sources frequently have 12Vdc 9Ahr for $12~$17 and $7~$9 shipping

My Tower starter has a Bat holder and is fed 2 series 8.4 Nimh RC car batteries 16+ Vdc....almost every multi bat charger can fill these up the once or twice a year needed the Nimh has a fairly low self discharge rate...a 12Vdc motor can be safely fed up to 24 volts intermittent like a starter motor

I use a 3cell LiPo 1000 mAh battery velcroed to the starter battery. Never run it down yet and only recharge about every fourth flying session. TotLly compact and convenient. I use another 3s LiPo to drive my power panel. It drives the plug leads and 1/2 A starter just fine.

I bought a 12 Volt rechargable battery from atbatt( AtBattery Company, Inc.)  on 1-30-16. The model number for my battery was item 3587, the title is  Power-Sonic 12V/12AH Sealed Lead PS-12120. I have used it steadily since purchase and it has rendered excellent service! About 1 year ago I purchased a trickle charger from Harbor Freight and have added an 18" length of cord to the positive lead and hook it up after every flying session and leave it alone until the next session! It works flawlessly for me! I am most satisfied and see no need to change to another! All this comes in the :"For What it's worth" category! If it ever fails I'll go right back and buy another!
