Hello Im interested in this horn.

Could you please let me know the dimensions, and thickness - as well as what thread the screws are holding it down.

Do you know the history of this horn?

Hello OJ;
My dad was into Control Line flying, and purchased this in the early 1980's. He's passed away now, and all the rest of his models have gone on to a collector that has an entire house full of control line, free flight, or RC models! There's a bit of yellow coloring (Dope as it used to be called) on it from when Dad used in on a model he flew at the time. Dad drilled a hole in it for the control rod, but never touched the ones put in by the manufacturer. The base measures .5in. x .4 in. x .1 in. and the bottom plate is .05in. thick. The screws are 4/40 and come with nuts. There are two of them, in opposite corners (what you see in the photo is what you get). The height from base to tip of horn is 1.25 in. (not measuring base plate). The thickness of the horn is .7 in. Other than the screws and nuts, it's all plastic (nylon I think) and still pliable after all these years! Thank you for your interest.
Mike

If he'd called it "found art", mounted it on an attractive wooden base, titled it "Elevation", and asked for a minimum bid of $59,000 instead of $0.59, it might have sold in a day.

I think everyone is belittling the control line history of this item. It came from the back up plane that almost went to the NATS. The year, plane and modeler escape me at the moment.  ;)

 I actually thought the same thing Walter, if there was a simple way to do it and have the final sale amount just go directly to John's deal.

 That would be awfully complicated to justify the effort I think.

Just FYI....
The first item sold on ebay was a busted laser pointer.

The online auction website was founded as AuctionWeb in San Jose, California, on September 5, 1995, by French-born Iranian-American computer programmer Pierre Omidyar (born June 21, 1967) as part of a larger personal site that included, among other things, Omidyar's own tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Ebola virus.[6] One of the first items sold on eBay was a broken laser pointer for $14.83. Astonished, Omidyar contacted the winning bidder to ask if he understood that the laser pointer was broken. In his responding email, the buyer explained: "I'm a collector of broken laser pointers."
