Check it out quick fellows. No it is not mine, I live in KANSAS. Item: 120871236294 . Rare Prather Model Airplane Prop Pitch Gauge. May go at low price and then again it may go for many times what it originally was worth. H^^

If it goes for less than $280 I will be VERY surprised...
Over the last 2 years I've watched 4 Prather pitch guages sell on Ebay... NON went below that figure.
I know becsaue I needed to replace mine - and was frustrated .. eventually just sucked it up and paid for it.....
It ends in 5 days.. its at $105 currently.. lets watch it.

Hmmmm Maybe I should build one and turn a buck on my Prather!!!

GULP! $280.00? ;D Holy mackerl, guess I better put mine in a safe. y1

I bought one while they were still in production and have kept it in perfect shape. Fortunately I found another about 2 years ago on ebay for about $30 to put in the field box for contests. It has a good bit of the lettering rubbed off on the lower stations, but it's fine for the higher stations.
I guess I better get insurance on them! LL~ LL~ LL~

Maybe it is time for Prather to make another run of them. Just checked and it is $127.50. %^@

Is Prather still in business?
I would think that maybe someone with a laser might see the need and start making them. The laser can engrave all the station markings.

But, how would it work on the electric planes with the reverse rotation??? H^^

There is some info in a thread on here about reversing the setup , I think you just basically move the endplate to the other end of the base,, ( but I dont recall and I am to lazy to search it) n~

Hi PJ,
Not disputing your assessment, I got mine a few years ago when the prices were a bit lower.

I've had mine for years. Don't even remember where I got it but I'm pretty sure I didn't spend 280.00 for it.

I had an older Pitch guage from another company.
Partly my interest in both this thread - and the Ebay Prather Pitch guages is : I needed to get my hands on a proper Prather do do my Comp props with.
About 6 months ago I purchased one off Ebay after realizing the following :
I wasnt going to get one cheap
No-one was prepared to sell me one Privatly
I couldnt get a Good quality one for less
So now Im the proud owner of a Prather, Ben Franklin and 2 of his brothers helped me pick it out.

Well there is a first time for everything.
That pitch guage sold for around $ 130 US - Someone got a GREAT deal.
I would not have though it would ever go for less than 250.. ended up WAY less.
I was wrong..... and I'm VERY surprised...... kind of wish I bought a 2nd one as a spare for that price.
