Title: E Flite control handle
Post by: rich gorrill on September 20, 2014, 03:14:38 PM
Just curious, has anyone tried the E Flite adjustable control handle? Many places on Da Bay offer it but give no sizes or line spacing. It looks like it might be the size of the old red one's, name escapes me right now. It comes with sad looking line clips, they close like a swivel but look easy to remove. Their are 2 knurled knobs for adjusting line length. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm using one and it's fine. IMHO.

Clips can be changed.

I'll get some twine and wrap the handle, that's about it.

I'm flying a Pathfinder ARF with a OS LA 46 on 64' lines.

Horizon Hobbies has them.

It is intended for the lightweight PT 19 E model and is too light duty for the LA 46. Horizon Hobbies has another handle for the larger PT 19 that will work.

The handle looks pretty solid...those clips are even questionable for 1/2 A.

Has the same problem with most commercial handles...No line spacing adjustment!

I modified one to have adjustable hardpoint spacing.

Frank Williams posted up a different version of the hardpoint modification to the E-Flite handle a few years ago.

For all the bother to purchase an E-Flite and then modify it to be functional and safe, one could just buy a proper hardpoint handle from the Stunthanger Store.  - http://stunthanger.com/hobby/index.php?cPath=24_45&osCsid=89e2c3fded411bbfac593185d6b7b376

This nice version is available for $24.95: http://stunthanger.com/hobby/product_info.php?cPath=24_45&products_id=83
