OK, what is this VSC I keep seeing reference to? I'm kind of isolated up here in Alaska, so don't get a lot of exposure to all the fun stuff you guys out in America get to do.

Vintage Stunt Championship.
-
Begun in 1989, this will be the 24th Annual hosting of the Vintage Stunt Championships - a celebration of sorts for Old Time (pre-1953) and Classic (pre-1970) Stunt designs. It includes a spark-ignition event for Old Time. From its original two-day format it has grown to become a week-long affair, drawing not only past and present USA Stunt addicts but also those from Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Held each March in Tucson, Arizona, it's worth a trip for anyone "lost in the Fifties" as well as anyone who'd like to meet yesterday & today's top flyers.

One wouldn't think so sometimes. Only 1% of the land is in private hands, the rest is locked up in parks and sanctuaries. R%%%%

I'll have to plan on coming down for that in the near future. I get to retire in 6 months, so I'll be looking for things to do. Thanks for the explanation. I knew it was a big deal, and it sounds like huge fun!

You will never regret attending the VSC. I remember my first one. Couldn't get my vacation time for the NATS which left the racing guys in the lurch as I was supposed to be event director again. Then I seen the announcement of the VSC in Tuscon. Wife's Aunt Betty was living in Tuscon Estates. Was told if we stayed in a motel she would disown us.
So scheduled vacation for VSC. Have not missed one since. The second year drove out by myself. My oldest grandaughter was only a couple of months old for the first one. This may be last year as Aunt Betty is in an assisted living complex. First year staying in a motel at Tuscon. As I stated anyone having a chance to attend a VSC will not be sorry. H^^

VSC is a mecca for stunt models, and the host Cholla Choppers club in Tucson do a splendid job of managing it. The site is outstanding, and so is the experience.
Highly recommended, don't miss it!

If you do--- tell him he owes me forty dollars!!
BTW, VSC is almost as much fun as girls.
-
Maybe I oughta go. Girls are fun.
-
Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't go. Girls are lots more fun than anything else I've ever done... S?P

Most fun of all are the Girls of VSC!
The whole reason I first became interested in Stunt was for the Money and the Women.

As one of the younger flyers at VSC this year, I think she'll be safe. After years of traveling and flying, I prefer the company of older women (Linda Gleason, Rickii Pyatt, Lila Lee, ect H^^ LL~ )
My first VSC was in 97. Flew my second OT pattern ever on my first official...the first one being in the grass about 10 minutes prior. Have been to the 2005 and 2007 VSC, and each visit was a ton of fun! This year I'm an hour down the road, down at Ft Huachuca. Should be a blast!!!

'dumb newbie question?'
From the number of responses and the fun that people have had with your question you should be able to see that the only dumb question around here is the one you don't know the answer to but still don't ask. y1

Sean, I am JUST THE OPPOSITE of you--- I preferr YOUNGER women--- like Linda Gleason, Lila Lee, Rickii Pyatt... etc.
VSC IS a good event to get to see many strange and unusal old designs. Wish I could make another one.

Now you guys keep it clean. Got to see a lot of people today and quite a few I didn't get to say to. Mark and Randy's planes look great sitting on the tarmac together. No pics as camera is in living room back home, along with handle for my Old Time. Had a very pretty young lady sing the National Anthem to get things started for a change. Being an old man I can't remember her name. Seen quite a few really good flights and a couple of planes that are no more for some reason or another. Gene Martine is taking pictures all over the place. You will need to contact him for a CD of pictures. More later as I am wore out. Came back to motel and the dogs slept as well as I did. If we could teach the family to enter the room a little more quietly. H^^

Doc, sorry I was kinda preoccupied when you wandered by the north fourty. I was trying to sort a couple issues out , mostly the crap run I had on my first flight,, ( literally crap,, my filter was a mess!!) lol next time thump me and tell me to say something inteligent ,,

Hey Mark, I understand and no apology needed. When a person is getting things ironed out for competition, they should not be bothered. I have probably been a snob to some people, when I too was busy. There are so many people and things going on. Hope everyone is having fun. the Fox is giving me fits in the Thunderbolt. H^^
