Don,
If you are for real about having trouble re-sizing photos, go to this link and down load PIXresizer. This free small program works great of photo re-sizing.

Don:
John is correct. Pixresizer is free and very simple to use. Once you pick a size of picture that you want to post in Stunthanger, it remembers the size and makes all downloaded pictures that size until you change it.

Shultzie? Rock? I can see the comparison.

schultzie Windows seven has a program called paint in the accessories section and it can be used to resize. Very simple and you already have it.
-
Am I the only one using Photoshop to crop, control DPI's and manage color in photographs?

Hi Shulzie
Just use Paint and click on Resize. D>K

No Charles, I am sure you are not, however, most people are not willing to spend the big bucks to get photoshop,, and then learn how to use it when all they need is to resize a few pictures,,
I use it too, but I use it for lots more than resizing pictures

Brother Donaldo,
Infranview is free and super easy to use. You can do as much or as little simply by clicking buttons........

I use the Gimp and it works well but like Mark, I use it for a lot of other stuff, too. And it also is free.

Window 7 has a free program "Windows Live Photo Gallery". Right click on the picture and pick resize then pick the size you want and it will make a copy to that size and leave the original intact. If it is not on your computer you can down load it free from Microsoft. I have a file on my desk top called Ed's model aircraft that I drag pictures to so it is easy to find them when uploading to site. y1

Irfanview - that's a very good one, and also install its RIOT plugin, which lets you easily control output file size. Take the time to play with it, learn to crop and resize images, as well as a few of its image adjustments to "pop" things, improve brightness, contrast, etc.
It's really an awesome free program and has a minimal amount of "astonishment" of graphics editor software with similar horsepower.
I haven't completely explored how well Windows 7 plays videos, I suspect it is pretty good. Windows Media Player is a pretty good program, but I also recommend another freebie program named Media Player Classic; it also seems well behaved and handles quite a few video formats.
I have Windows 7 on my laptop, which I seem to only use in the hospital (because I despise "chiclet" type keyboards on laptops) and
I did like some of its features. Once I disposed of the fruity, "clippy" (Vista?) style interface, it slimmed down to work similar to trusty old Windows XP Pro; more manly non-Tweeting, non-facebook computing people like myself actually use it with reduced torquing of the jaw.
Good luck! ;->

Thanks...Guys! Ed...I too have been using my windows live photo gallery editing software...however it seems to really eat away and degrades the original images quite noticably?

Donaldo, the old DOC here. I just found out we have Wndows 7 on this computor. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to read and play with it. Also patience. I pull the card from my camera andput it in the HP Photosmart Plus thingy and wait for the box to come up on the screen(monitor). Name the down loads and click OK. Then I go to my pictures on the program menu and look for my pictures. Move curser to the picture in question and it tells me the size. Then I do the edit function. Took me several tries to learn to delete a pic when it wasn't the right size and start again. Also learning to read the line, "Recent Changes". But like anything it takes trial and error. Don't ask how many pictures are out in cyber land somewhere. H^^
