Duco cement made by Devcon
« on: June 18, 2014, 04:20:49 PM »

I am looking for Duco cement, and it is made by Devcon.
At one time I could get it at Family General stores, but they don't carry it now.

  Any suggestions,

Last I checked, it was sold on Amazon for a decent price. If you have a Prime membership, shipping's free! :) Hopefully that helps.

Any hardware store, I would think. As near as I can tell, it's about the same as it always was, smells the same and works the same. Still weaker than Ambroid and much weaker than SIG-Ment, but OK for some purposes.

Indoor FF guys swear by it.  Mix it with acetone, put it in a pin-oiler bottle, and start building!

Sig still sells Sigment.

Sig still sells Sigment.

Probably not for long, with their "ARFication"! Those buyers won't know how to fix anything or need glue.

FWIW, I used Sigment on a Starduster X wing, pre-glued all the joints, and it literally fell apart when I took it off the board. I went back over all the joints with Ambroid, and had no such problem. As for Duco, the late and great Bob White, F1B Ace, many time WC team member and World Champ was a Duco enthusiast. That's not to say that the current Duco is as good as it once was.   D>K Steve
