Dubro Filling Station
« on: July 24, 2009, 12:44:23 PM »
Can anyone suggest a safe chemical to run through a Dubro filling station to clean out a "gunky" pump?

Thanks

I would think 91% isopropyl alcohol would do the trick. Just be sure to pump fresh fuel though it after its cleaned out.You don't want any rubber(if any) to get dried out and crack.

I had a couple of brass NVA w/steel needles that were all gunked up with castor residue.  I got the bright idea to soak them in a small jar of "rubbing" alcohol.  Rusted the assemblies up solid.  A 91% solution of isopropyl alcohol is going to be 9% water?

Fuel should clean out the pump perfectly.  If you have some old fuel that you aren't comfortable in flying, that would be a good use for it.
