Transportation to and from the field.
« on: August 28, 2009, 12:29:12 PM »
Hello, I am presently displaced and well I am thinking of how I can get to and from flushing meadow park easily with a field box and an airplane. In the late 70's I rode a bicycle to and from the park as well as traveling everywhere In queens. I'm now 53 and I do not think a bicycle is going to be feasible. I'm wondering if anybody has rode a scooter and added a way to carry the plane and flightbox. Or any suggestions or options you can think of ?

Hi Jim, depending on what planes you fly, the subway may be a good idea, or even a taxi if the planes are small enough.  I'm not familiar with the subways so all I can give is a suggestion H^^

Yes matt I could use the subway. It takes 2 trains and a loonggg walk from the old shea stadium station to the flying field. I know shea is gone but imagine the subway station is the same. I used to mount the plane or planes to my handle bars and carry the tool tote with fuel and battery over my handlebar.
