What size socket driver fits 4-40 nuts ????
same question for 6-32 ??

Usually 1/4 and 5/16

The common size for 4-40 nuts is 1/4", but 3/16" nuts are around.  I think 1/4" is pretty common for 6-32 as well -- most electronics enclosures will open up with a 1/4" hex wrench.
