Just got a querry from Dave Cook thru Bob Robertshaw asking if someone from the Tampa area has built a 1951 Barnstormer with "apple cheeks". Dave's email is  DavC3@verizon.net

Can't be sure because I'm the "new kid on the block" here, but I think Ed Ruane did one of those a while back. He's now lurking in the Carolinas...

Ward    I have never built a Barnstormer. Hard to believe.  Lew Andrews came over to Binghamton NY several times to fly with the local CL guys in the early 50's. He brought short kits with him and gave them away. Someone bought a well used  Barnstormer and Trixy from Jim. I remember the motor was inverted on the Barnstormer but do not remember it having the cheeks on it. I built a Trixy from ribs he gave me and  three views of his plane with numbers on it. The construction was nothing like the kit.
