I built a 1/2A size on years ago and put a Norvell Big Mig .61 on it and it was a ball to fly.  It was like a bat out of hell.

That is one good looking Doodlebug.     I have the .40 size that the late John Lowrey was producing.  They are fun to fly even they look a little strange from the center of the circle.

Looking great. What I would like to find out is HOW people iron on two different color transparent coverings over 'open structure' wings without one color being seemingly underneath the other. THis DoodleBug has red transparent and white transparent on the open structure wings ..... and no boundry showing.
A wonderful effect....... how?

If you zoom in, it looks like a normal overlap. When i make two colors over an open structure, i bond the monokote first, then apply it to the wing as one sheet

Oh, and what a gorgeous job on the doodlebug! Outstanding finish
