WOW, HOWARD!
"Time flies when we're havin fun~!" huh....
I remember that E mail U sent me at my old Boeing studio...of that "rather wild n' artzie-fartzie'paint schemed Avenger with that OVERSIZED BUBBLE-BUBBLE CanopY.
However I did have one photo saved on my BOEING COMPANY STUDIO COMPUTER that not only included that rather unique color schemed model that you saw at the 2000 championships but also one from a model builder who was also a professional auto painter in France.
That model was painted with a rather intense yellow main color with Blue and orange accent trim stripes....ala' 76 Gas Station Color scheme.
HOWARD!
GOOD BUDDY!!WHATEVER YOU DO...IF YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE PERSONAL PHOTOS THAT U WANT TO SAVE ON YOUR BOEING COMPANY COMPUTER...GET THEM ONTO DISC OR TRANSFER THEM TO YOUR HOME!
When I retired in 2004...I stupidly thought that I would have time to save some of those most charished moments that I have saved on that company computer...BUT SADLY I RAN OUT OF TIME BEFOR THE COMPUTER SQUAD came in the night before I retired and DUMPED EVERYTHING OFF THAT COMPUTER!
Hummm...(pehaps that was no accident?) My wind tunnel group now became under the wing of the PHANTOM WORKS......GADS! Now I see why on the plaque that I recieved from PHANTOM WORKS..reads in part..."CONGRATS ON GETTIN OUT OF PW ALIVE"...just might have not been a joke, but THE TRUTH? LL~ VD~ H^^

Seems like only yesterday...but my old bod' keeps telling me that purty long time ago.. LL~
Tom
Again...I was so pleased to see that the Stunt News issue with my Avenger also contains BOB EMMETT my life long mentor, dear friend of both my wife and I.
Bob many many many times...helped and guided me through so many difficult times in my life...I can assure you that that Avenger and many other models would never have been possible with his guidance.
He helped me so much not only in the building fazes, but also was always there when I needed him....be it as a helper, coach, or advice on so many other issues in my life.
In the lean and mean times...of the mid 60's I can assure you that he and his beautiful family got a bit tired of seeing me coming down his driveway by the lake...JUST ROUND' SUPPA TIME!
Bob and his family truly fed both my skinny body...and my needy starved soul.
That song.."He ain't heavy...he's my brother" is what Bob Emmett was for soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many of us nerd-de-well young model builders in those days.
He truly made a huge difference in my life...and I will always feel so fortunate to have him as my brotha in life and balsa dust.
Hey Gang...Read about Bob Emmett! I truly wish I could "glean a look this issue of Stunt News just for that beautiful model of Bob's "Miss Chev"

UHHHH? DON'T GLEAN???? LL~ YOU ARE KIDDING...RIGHT?
Is that expecting too much of a request...for me to simply wonder if one copy of Stunt News sent to me is "unvogueity'? :-\
I will gladly cover the cost of the copy and all shipping charges?
"ISN'T GLEANING EXACTLY WHAT STUNT NEWS IS EXPECTED TO DO?" The main focus-facta etc....gleaning the talents, skills, ideas....not only from its membership...but also for anyone who just may enjoy stopping in from time to time with something to offer EVERYONE WHO JUST PLAIN LOVES LITTLE TOY AIRPLANE STUNT MODELS???
Bottom line:
It is truly an honor to see that both Emmett and I...who were also some of the most dedicated first contributors of SN who did our best in those start up days.... to now at long last... see that both our old models are in this BEAUTIFUL LOOKING ISSUE OF THE LATEST STUNT NEWS!My deepest thanks....
Again Tom...
My deepest gratitude to you for diggin'up our old stuff and I hope that they might at least touch some "funny bones" due to the dated nature that the past seems to alway end up haunting our present.
Who knows...I may finally "get off my dead azz69 year old bottom" get out the sketch pads n' pens again....WHO KNOWS!! THAT FREEBEEE COPY JUST MIGHT JUMP START "SHULTZIE-OLD OS 35-40-demented brain cells again? LL~
