NO I certainly was not the first - nor the best.
I was simply inspired by Paul Walkers B17 which was the first known competition able 4 engined stunter and competed at USA Nationals and World Championships.
Mine just went to a Nats.. the story of how it went was it was 2 Inches overspan as per the new FAI rules at the time I was made aware of the rule a few weeks out from the Nationals and took it anyway, despite my better judgement. The Contest director at the start of the event asked for a show of hands if anyone objected to it competing knowing it was deemed "illegal" there were no objections. ( My best guess was at the time either no-one thought id do anygood, or they wanted to see it fly )
After 2 rounds I was sitting in 5th place. At the start of Round 3 I was informed someone ( yes I know who.. ) lodged a formal protest and I was disqualified from the event.
I later modified the bomber and placed 3rd at our State championships and eventually won a regional contest. I then retired the bomber from competition and hung it on the wall where it still remains. My financee' wants to see it fly but I have little interest, pulls way to hard and is taxing to get ready for a contest flight.
My hat ( and respect ) go out to Paul for his pioneering effort, I simply followed his design concepts and his advice when building it. I did nothing extraordinary, but its nice to be remembered in some capacity.
The irony is that I've never seen video of Pauls, and he's not seen Video of mine !
Here is a photo of Pauls B17

Few more of mine.. for those interested..
