Guy Hardee Estate sale by David Shad; What Happened??

I purchased the Legacy kit from David Shad, it was part of the Guy Hardee Estate listed in the classified section. I ordered it in late June, but asked for an early August delivery because my schedule had me away from home in July; David said no problem. In mid August I emailed David to ask if he had mailed the kit; I've emailed him 3 or 4 times now with no response. I phoned, with no response.

Does anyone know if he's OK? Or, did I get ripped off. The kit was paid for via paypal, and due to my absense the time to recoup has expired.

I hope he's OK, and maybe just been busy.

Brian...you are not alone...I sent him $515.00 on July 14th for a kit and engine and have yet to receive it. I have conversed with others who have this same problem. I guess he has had some very difficult life problems ...BUT...
he doesn't answer all of my emails, although when he does he apologizes and says he will send my stuff but I haven't gotten it as of yet. I'm the type that will give him the benefit of the doubt but sooner than later it will come
to a point that I will deal with him in a criminal matter ( as in  fraud by U.S. mail and traceable cashed money order). I just hope he reads this and sends both of our stuff to us. I will keep you posted and I ask you do the same for me.

Hi Geno; I'm the same way, I like to give everone the benefit of the doubt. With that said, at this point he has not responded and it does begin to make you suspicious. If some sort of issue is keeping him from shipping the kit, I can wait, but I sure would like to know. Kinda gives you mixed feelings . . . I hope he's well, but if he is, then what's going on.

I will keep trying, and will keep you posted if I learn anything.

I loaned David a canopy to use as a pattern over a year ago and he hasn't returned it altho he has promised to several times. Emails go unanswered but go thru to some where and aren't returned  .

Being the new moderator of the classified section I got several email compaints on this. I did track Dave down with this address and he said he would make good on his deals. Sorry folks got the shaft.

There are a lot of posts on Dave here and over and Stuka.  He has a friend “Taphee” who is acting as an encourager for him to make good on his deals and we have a Cell number for Dave now.

Well, good luck trying to deal with USPS on "mail fraud".  They will take all your information, then you get a letter saying there's nothing they can do.  Nothing?  Really?

I still have not heard from David. I've read many posts now both here and on SS forums, I guess David is pretty much someone you don't want to deal with. Even though it's to late for a refund via PayPal, I did lodge a formal complaint with them. At the very least they will now monitor his activity and look at the number of complaints he has or will receive in the future. May not be much, but at least something.

If any others that he's ripped off used PayPal, it would help if you did the same.
