Thanks, Brett. I hadn’t appreciated how important it is to reschedule stunt to show a movie. Have someone read the announcement to you: “activities start at 8:30.” How long before that do people start wandering through the circles?
My outrage-o-meter might be saturated at this point. The AMA could not be more clear about their general contempt for the C/L NAT.
This is not an accident, because they have literally hundreds of acres where they could do this with no impact, including moving the entire affair 200 feet to the West, off the edge of the L=pad. So you can probably assume it is intentional, a sort of passive-aggressive move to show who is the boss.
Complain about it, and I predict the answer will be "what do you mean, stunt is scheduled to start on Sunday, not Saturday, and no official flying is scheduled until Tuesday? A counter-move might be to ask them about off-site practice areas, which they absolutely hate because it makes it looks like the World Center of Aeromodeling might not be all it is cracked up to be.
It has been clear for some time that there is a low-level war between stunt, and the AMA, including other CL events (that need the AMA a lot more than we do). This is just another shot across the bow.
