Got a McCoy 29 for a project and thought it was a runner. Seems she needs some work before it will run. Any leads appreciated.

Hi, Chris.
I've rebuilt quite a few McCoy RR engines.
What seems to be the problem with yours?

Bob Z.

Hi Bob,
The front and rear cases had no gaskets so seemed the clearances for the crankshaft were too tight because of this but still the prop driver was riding on the case instead of the bearing or crankshaft and had a ton of drag. I don't know if there is some missing spacers or shims.

Yes, there should be a shim between the prop driver and front housing.
It maintains clearance between the two.

Hey Chris;  I may have a parts engine or two if you need parts. I have to get up in the attic and into that foot locker to check, but I think I have some old McCoy rear rotor stuff. I did help out a guy that cam into the hobby shop with something for one of these that he was putting into a restored tether car, but can't remember what it was. Let me know if you need something and I'll check.

  Hey Man!
Yeah, I have same number, just got a new smarty pants phone and haven't reset the voice mail message. I'll check the voice mail and call you later. I was Buder for a while today for our World Cup F2A event and been working in the yard after that. Still have a couple of licks to do and then will get back to you.
