Surgery
« on: February 17, 2010, 12:58:17 PM »
Well,
Home from the hospital and a surgical proceedure called Cardiac Ablation, to fix my Atrial Fibrilation.
Like the fellow who fell off the tall building was heard to say as he passed each floor "So Far So Good".
The folks at Tucson Medical Center were terrific and made the scary stuff a little easier.
Five Hour proceedure while out cold. Not much after effects except a very sore crotch where the catheters were inserted in the artery and veins.
So far a whole day of nice sinus rythm beating...hope it holds.
They tell me everything went well, so I'll take their word for it.
Very nice pretty nurses...
Insurance paid over $90,000 for the whole mess. I can tell you however that the alternative "Sucks".
Hope I can get back to flying now.

Hi Randy. A very good friend of mine went through the proceedure over a year ago and has had almost total relief. He has worked on his breathing (he's a shallow breather with sleep apnia) and takes the time to purge his lungs when he thinks about it and is very happy with the change. Good luck with you recovery.
