Schmaltzie....No. "Hit the silk" as in "bail out of bed". The point of the post is "If you don't mind, it don't matter!", at least in the short haul. When it's under 40F in the machine shop for the first 4 hours, it sux. Monday mornings are toughest. Summer of '81 was hot and dry here in Seattle. One night at Plant 2 it was 99F at my lathe at 11pm, and it was like that for weeks. Second shift is always hottest in summer and most miserable...not bad in Winter, tho.
Doc...When we lived at Edwards AFB, many day there was ice in the gutters (runoff from lawn sprinklers) in the morning as I walked to skool (about a mile, in knee deep sand!), and 90's on the way home. Typically short sleeve shirt did both tasks ok, but neither was real comfortable. It was the 115-117F that really didn't suit me at all.
