We just got back from taking a short walk down to the Gig Harbor Boat Dock...to get away from the 82 degree heat wave on these last few weeks of Sept.
As we were walking past a row of boats we couldn't help but notice a beautiful brand new sail boat with OUR "DOC" HOLIDAY'S NAME PLATE?
After checking with the boat next door...the boater behind noticed that I was taking a photo...and they mentioned that "DOC" had just left for an early dinner at the near by TIDES PUB...which has a fully shaded large outside dining area over looking the water front.
Hummm?
HEY DOC!!! WHERE WERE YOU HIDING? (I here that all boaters know their true friends AT HAUL OUT TIME?)
My wife and I stopped and had a cocktail but couldn't find you....HOWEVER WE RAISED OUR GLASS'S N' TOASTED YOU ANYHOO H^^!

Well folks, I am sorry to say that is not me. The name is spelled wrong. When I was still a working stiff the clerk asked my I had not responded to a note she left. Told her that was not my name as it has only one L. H^^

THANKS STEVE....FOR CORRECTING MY LOST SEPT WEEK! (perhaps induced by too many "raised glasses of brewskis at the Tides Pub, huh?
I didn't even think to look at the calender when I downloaded the photo and typed this drivil..
See what can happen when your damaged DNA from bad genes, too many dope sniffing sessions, bad cheap brewskis...mixed in with DEMENTED OLD AGE..TOPPED OFF WITH THE "EVERY DAY IS SAT" RETIREMENT SIN'DROME can do to ya??! LL~

I did notice that spelling on the boat...KNOWING THAT THEIR IS AT LEAST 50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER, SPELL NAMES SUCH AS HOLIDAY, SHULTZ OR HELLMIC' H^^

Fact is, a lot of it is what you get used to. Folks move here from California and say they're freezing. Alaskans come down here and are running around in T-shirts all winter. It takes awhile to acclimate, no matter what you have to get used to.
As long as it cools off at night enough so I can sleep, I'm happy. I've been used to hitting the silk at 3:30am for years, regardless of the weather, year around. I've noticed that if I don't think about how cold the floor or room is, it's fine. The key thing is to not say "brrrr" or "phew, it's hot". My wife does that, and wonders why she's cold. I tell her not to think about it, but of course she doesn't listen to me. HB~> Steve

I must admit...that my wife has caught me in the shower (more than just once) showering with my RIPSTOCK NYLON KITES. Humm? I also must confess that I just LOVE THE FEEL AND RUSTLING SOUND OF WET RIPSTOP AGAINST MY BASE AZZ SKIN! ~^ #^ LL~

Schmaltzie....No. "Hit the silk" as in "bail out of bed". The point of the post is "If you don't mind, it don't matter!", at least in the short haul. When it's under 40F in the machine shop for the first 4 hours, it sux. Monday mornings are toughest. Summer of '81 was hot and dry here in Seattle. One night at Plant 2 it was 99F at my lathe at 11pm, and it was like that for weeks. Second shift is always hottest in summer and most miserable...not bad in Winter, tho.
Doc...When we lived at Edwards AFB, many day there was ice in the gutters (runoff from lawn sprinklers) in the morning as I walked to skool (about a mile, in knee deep sand!), and 90's on the way home. Typically short sleeve shirt did both tasks ok, but neither was real comfortable. It was the 115-117F that really didn't suit me at all. f~ Steve
PS: Doc, I think Donoldo has lost it, and you should notify the moderator... LL~
