Post by: Shorts,David on October 01, 2022, 11:39:42 AM
Does anyone have digital copies of Grandersons Diva for sale or download? Otherwise, ama has them and 20% off right now.

I have an 8.5x11 coloring sheet to share (NOT plan), for sketching purposes on color scheme ideas.

I found a 2005 Article on the Diva at https://library.modelaviation.com/article/diva-200502
Scans of the article, including the plan pages.

I suppose https://plans.modelaircraft.org/product/diva/ is the proper source for the plan, unless somebody wants to share a copy privately.

Usually when getting plans from AMA Plan Service you can get a second copy for 1/2 price.  Makes for a set to cut up for templates and easier building. H^^

I thought I had lost the Diva plans.  Found them!  Here are the PDF files for those who wish to look at this beautiful plane of the great Phil Granderson.

Looking at Pat's plans, I just realised that the wing is designed for the lost foam build method. So, first you need a foam wing core, if you want to build it according to the plan.

I have some lost-foam Diva wing sets, subject to another person’s dibs. Interested parties can contact me.

David, better jump on Howard's deal.  If you follow Bobby's method you can't go wrong. D>K

I've already got the wing, but thanks.

In memory of great Phil Granderson,
Bravo!  Phil was a great modeler in a variety of events...but primarily combat and a bit later CLPA.  In addition he was a masterful craftsman, his airborne equipment the equal of any on the field on any given day.  His loss was a great loss for modeling...not just stunt or combat.

I met Phil at the VSC in a somewhat unusual manner. Capt.Fancher had me hold a beautiful pastel-blue stunter while he went to pick up some more clear tape with which to add additional tab/trim.

I rested the wing tip on my foot and a stranger walked up to me and commented on the nice plane I was holding. I informed him it wasn't my plane, it was Ted's, who was getting some tape to trim this plane.

"No, that's my plane, not Ted's. I'll take it now." was his reply....

About that moment Ted returned so I told the stranger he could discuss the ownership with him.
I met the Diva before I was introduced to Phil, a super-wonderful guy.

Hmmmm, wonder if Ted recalls any of that.....?

Well, Dale, the simple answer is "no I don't"...however, of late I can't remember what day it is or where I left...pretty much anything!  fortunately, I've still got  my Shareen to "fill in those blanks!"

I'm pretty sure, however, that the Diva didn't come home with me!  Oh, and Shareen confirmed it!

PT was flying a Diva at VSC?  He was sneaky like that.

Looking back in time, I don't know what Phil's plane was, other than just beautiful. It was a light blue overall and I think it had orange and red trim. The clear canopy revealed an immaculate cockpit.

At the VSC banquet, Phil received a gift of an airplane kit...some kind of combat plane. Always good times when Phil was around.

Perhaps this is the airplane.  It's a Gialdini Olympic.  All shots taken at VSC 2004
