Discussion for Indoor Control Line Package
« on: April 19, 2019, 10:52:05 AM »
After reading the information that some of you most generously supplied on my previous thread about indoor control line flying, I thought I would pursue this to the next level and ask for your input on possibly offering a kit much like you saw in the Video that Igor Burger and Paul produced where they were flying the foam indoor Gee Bee.

If a precut kit were offered with a plug and play complete electric system were offered as a complete package, do you think this would be something that would interest you?  I was thinking that this might be a way to possibly interest younger people since they fly slow and are easily repairable or for those who live in harsher northern climates, it would give them a chance to continue having fun when the conditions outside are not conducive to flying.  There may be other attractive reasons to do this as well that I have not thought of.

The design of the foam plane could be just about anything but the same construction methods would be used no matter the design.

I have a lot of ground work before anything like this could become a reality but to my knowledge, I don't know where in the United States you could get a complete package like this.

Anyway, at this point all I am looking for is if there is adequate interest in going forward with this project.

Please let me know what you think.

Respectfully.

Mike Griffin

Mike: Most definitely interested here. Indoor winter flying would be nifty.

It would be cool.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I’d like to be your beta tester.
I have seen the light, and it’s powered by a lipo.

But that's using all the super dee-lux parts -- with cheap Chinese parts, you can cut the cost down considerably.

I am having some preliminary discussions with Eric Rule and offering a package kit and power system seems to be very doable.

So, Jerry -- that makes two PNW pilots who want this.  You know of a gymnasium where we could congregate and fly?
