Post by: Larry Wong on January 29, 2007, 09:08:52 AM
This slide show takes about 5 minutes, so be sure you have the
time when you open it; it is well worth the wait.  This is the Discovery preparation and night shot in December.  Share it and enjoy!!

Hello,

Very, very, impressive........

This year has one of those awful birthdays with a zero as the last digit (no, not 100!!) and I was thinking of taking the wife and kids to see a launch before it's all over - (the shuttle program - not my demise!)

How do you get to see a launch? - I assume the views on the tv are from the "invited guests only" area?

Any info welcome...

Cheers

Harry

Well I got to see just by pulling off the side of the road, and walking up to the edge of a lake. I think it is Indian lake?

It is hit or miss as they can scrub a mission due to weather.

I must say it is some to see and feel live.

Probably was the "Indian River", from Titusville shore line.
Best viewing if not on KSC property.

Roger,

Thanks for the info - absolutely awesome photos....

Will be there...

Cheers

Harry

ps: next thing to see before your die: an "above ground" nuclear test - an ex Navy (UK) guy who works for me has seen one (Bikini or somewhere like that) and he says it was the most awesome thing he has ever seen. No chance now I guess?
