Title: Did another thread just disappear?
Post by: Serge_Krauss on January 06, 2014, 07:34:58 PM
If so, then I will be doubly careful about where I invest my time.

It's probably some sort of senior dementia, but I haven't come across the one where we were discussing Profili and generating wing ribs.

SK

I deleted the Thread because it had misleading information in it.

It also went sidways, was off topic.

Now SK, You want to go one on one with your Profili?

OK.

Like most, I hope, I don't want to try to help and invest time and effort that is going to be thrown out. I will only invest now where it is unlikely that significant chunks of lives will be devalued or wasted. For the one question stated, the simple answer is "no,", and for the one implied, it is, "I don't own nor have an interest in Profili." For the one left unasked, "Yes, I'm plenty annoyed that my effort and time were not valued."

I understand fully what Serge is saying because I have had it happen to me.  On the other hand, I have posted for specific information and the first couple of replys pertained to what I asked and then the thread goes haywire or some sort of silly argument ensues that has absolutlely nothing to do with what I asked and before you know it, things are totally out of hand.  What I have learned to do (and Charles you might try this next time this happens) simply copy and paste the replies that pertain to your question into Word or some other word processing program and forget the rest.  Just Cherry pick the thread as it progresses until it dies a natrual death like all threads eventually do.

I have a whole file of "HOW TO" information that I have copied and pasted and saved of information that folks on here have provided.

Just and idea.

Well, I simply avoid threads from certain people because of this problem and a couple of others.

I do agree completely with Serge's complaint however.   I do not agree with allowing the deletion of any threads...I look upon a forum like this as a living thing and to start chopping it apart simply makes it an incomplete entitity...Sorta like maiming a child!!!

I have several times tried to look up certain information from past threads and have found them to be missing.  While not the end of the world it most definitely is a waste of time!

Oh Well, back to the building board!

The very fact that Charles asked a question and got many very good answers doesn't mean a thing to him. That the answers could have been of value to others is of no consequence. Threads often go down another tangent but it mean they deserve for them to be deleted. Just a very big waste of peoples time and a very selfish act. He has done this so many times I am surprised that this option hasn't been taken away from everyone.

I have been very patient for years sitting here watching our friend create havoc on this forum.  I do not understand how this person's nonsense can be allowed to continue.  Some might enjoy the silly contributions he makes, and I can live with that.  But when he is allowed to sabotage very useful information, and continue to get away with it, well...I am starting to loose my patience.  Please Robert, for the sake of the membership, send this guy away.  Sorry for the rant, but we have all had enough.  This is not right!

I am getting at my wits end that is for sure. The privilege to remove ones own topic has been removed (I think). The permissions settings in this software is very complicated and not very logical. (hard to figure out, ask Randy)

Charles you may moderate your own section not the main forum.
5. Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. By the way I wanted to try Profi and it works. So easy even a mechanic can do it.

I agree with Serge and both Randys' and Robert.  Don't quite understand what
Chucky meant as to we won't like what would happen. Sounds a little ominous.
Probably best just to shut him down so the rest of us can use all the wasted space
Chucky seems to take up.

Serge, Thanks for all the info as I think I get a lot of things then you show me a lot
more stuff that I have used.   RJ

WE have tried to let the members here have as much control as possible, but since this particular problem keeps popping up, the privilege to remove others post, and their own post are being taken away, This is causing too much grief on the forum. Upsetting too many people. As this type problem and other keeps coming up, we are , and will be ,taking actions to remedy them. Remember you can't have this both ways. It would be nice if everyone showed as much courtesy to others, as they want shown to themselves. The moderators here , and in their own forums will still lock, remove, or whatever deemed necessary, and will continue to do their jobs.

This thread needs no more comments so I am locking it. hopefully this problem is not fixed.
