Today I was lucky enough to meet the Designman (Larry Renger). I took him flying to my club at St Ives in SYDNEY! Larry met about a dozen local fliers from our club, had lunch with us and got to see what it's like flying upside down on the other side of the world!
Here's a couple of pics.
1st Pic: Larry flying my fullsize Electric Pathfinder
2nd Pic: L to R Larry, Steve Rothwell, Andy Kerr, Geoff Goodworth, John Goodwin
3rd Pic: Larry signing our Cox engines
4th Pic: Myself and Larry.

G'day, mates! Had a fair dinkum good time with the blokes in OZ! No, they don't reverse their handles, I checked first. (the adjusting knob was on the bottom, so I am not absolutely sure)
Good turnout, about a dozen fliers. Diesel racing and classic diesel combat are big here.
Thanks Warren for a great time! H^^
Off to New Zealand tomorrow.

I hope to make it out today but will be bundled up. @@^

Hey Larry looks like you are having way too much fun. Wouldn't blame you if you didn't come back.
New Zealand, another place I would love to see. First team I met at the Worlds in 04. All great guys as well as the Designman. H^^

The feeling is mutual. I would love to come to the USA someday too and fly with you guys.
It was a pleasure taking Larry out for the day and all the guys at the field were very pleased to meet him also.
Cheers

Bill - To visit those guys would yeld QUITE a round trip, only Warren and Herb live kind of close to eachother - the rest are scattered across this big brown land.

As PJ said Bill, all welcome Downunder! Pete White lives on the other side of the country so just a cool 2500 mile trip which isn't too far short of LA to NY. The difference is that from Adelaide there's bugger all in between! Wish I could take notice of Googfle Maps. It gives about 1 day 18 hours drive time! I wish!

Dallas, That 1 day 18 hours might be closer to correct if it wasn't for the damned speed limits. The last time I drove over from the West it took about that time to get to the South Australian border. And before you tell me that you had a horse like that once too - I wasn't trying all that hard. I once did it in 32 hours from Adelaide to Perth and that was with 900 miles of dirt road in the middle, but it was when I was much younger, with 2 drivers taking turns at the wheel and we were both completely knackered by the time we got home.
