Designman in Florida the end of this week

Hey gang, I will be in Florida, specifically South Beach, this week.   (note that I erroneously said South Park at first)

I will have Friday to myself for sightseeing, flying, whatever.  I need some recommendations on what to see and where to go!

Larry - Consider taking an architectural tour of South Beach.  Incredible Art Deco builings to be seen.  We did a walking tour w/ an electronic CD as the guide

I lived and woked in S. Florida from 1980-1990. South Beach back then was pretty rough. All the Art Deco hotels were run down and seedy. Drugs, hookers and the Mariel boatlift. The movie Scarface shows what S. Beach was like during that time - literally!

It's completely different today. The hotels are beautifully restored with a lot of nightlife! Lots to do in Miami.

Be sure to get some "Stone Crabs" for dinner or lunch! They're served cold with a white sauce - YUM!!!

I have been in Miami all my life. I haven't been to south beach for 40 years. No big loss. Better learn some spanish. I fly at Markham Park in the city of Sunrise, just west of Ft. Lauderdale.
