I think all arf's that are profile should be built with wing and tail section all finnished and the fuselodge cut out and plans to make the profile fusalodge like it should be made. Most of the ARF's have a lousy fuselodge desighn. My oppinion.

Leo, what in particular dont you like about the way ARF fuse's are made, is it the hollow built up construction? my only gripe is the heavy baseball bat wood, and the substandard "hardwood " sued for motor mounts. I build up my profiles the same way, a perimeter (I use 1/2" ) and then ribs inside, sheeted with 1/16, its in some ways stronger, and definetly lighter.

It is amazing that people complain about ARF/ARC's planes. Look at the price you are paying for them. Now look at the kit price and the time it takes to build it. You get what you pay for. Granted there can be improvements, but, at what cost? I am happy with them as it saves me many hours of building, even tho I still build a lot. Just finished a Brodak Original Magician kit. More coming later on it as soon as the wife gets in the mood for taking pictures. Later, DOC Holliday

The problem I have with them is the way the nose is put togather and you are right about the cost and i do think it is a good deal and a time saver. My problem is the fusaledge should last longer and the motor mount are not long enough and in some cases non existant. My thoughts. HB~>

Mine dont last to long either, um but I dont really think mine has ANYTHING to do with the design, lol, more like I havent found the soft spots on the flying circles yet,, HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~>
They sure have made my progress MUCH MUCH more smooth. If I had to scratch build everything at my stage, I would only fly about half as much,, as for the ARFs I truly LOVE the way my P-40 flies, I should have my new semi ARC in Puallup,,,
