Just put some hinges on my scratch build.
Man are these thing easy and smooth.
As Forest Gump would say, " I like it A LOT."

Thems purdy Paul. y1
Worked out nice.

Now rub a little glue into them to keep exhaust oil out of the holes.
I use regular sewing thread for my 1/2As.

Yup I will put a drop of CA in each hole.
I will put one more set in the middle.

Hi, Paul - I have been using dental floss for a few years now and I think it's absolutely the best for OTS and 1/2A planes.
Much better and more flexible than cloth.
Also, nothing seem to attack them.
I put them on my Viking around 6 years ago and they still work like new. Here's a picture.

No closeup pictures, but we used carpet thread for RC hinges back in the 50s and 60s. We called them just "figure 8" or "sewn" hinges. Completely free, nice tight gap, and could be applied after finishing. I was just thinking about going back to them, especially on my little electrics. The dental floss is a nice modern touch!

I've been using the figure 8 hinges made from 1/2A nylon control line for a long time. Also easy to repair if req'd.

So you recycle it after using it on the plane? Isn't it a little greasy? n~
