Oh no............John.............going to the "dark side".............not you too...........I would have never believed it. I thought we were the "glo-generation" and were willing to stand and fight for the real control line hobby. ............ Oh well, I guess it's another man down ! ~^ VD~ H^^

The excitement of the unexpected "bench start" of an electric is part of the fun.
More seriously, electrics do have some pleasant features. Though I understand crashes can be expensive, sometimes ruining the motor, ESC and battery, all in one go. IC engines tend to survive.

Check any serious stunt contest and notice how many are electrics and how many are I.C. I have never experienced a motor over-run or an errant needle setting with my electrics.
