DWAYNE,
We never lose anyone....sometimes they go on ahead to wait for us. My son is waiting for me to join him too.

I've experienced it also.  I learned, you never "get over" it--you learn to live with it.  You are forever changed.

Dwayne, you are very fortunate to have had someone you could call your best friend.  The years that GOD has left me on this piece of rock has been good to me in that I had friends all thru my life.  But, it seemed that every time I would start getting close to one they would be taken away.  The last one I remember most was a gentleman by the name of Ken Capehart.  He started flying models again after a bout with heart surgery.  He had built an old timer with ignition engine that him and his brother used to fly with when they were much younger.  Ken and his brother visited Tuscon just for the VSC.  They were having a blast watching and getting aquainted with everybody.  That is when he built the old timer and was planning on going to the VSC.  In January before the VSC his wife called to tell me Ken did not make it thru his last heart attack.  His family treated me like they had known me all their life.  I still miss him even tho I only knew him for such a short time.  I guess that is why I don't get close to people anymore.  But, we all must go on living and making new friends.  Hope to meet you one of these days.  Later,  DOC Holliday
