With great reluctance, I have to ask again, this time in the main forum - why are threads being deleted from "At The Handle"? The recent, and completely non-controversial "Moving with the maneuvers" thread is gone completely. A second thread "Flap tweak", similarly completely innocuous, first had my post edited to remove content, with unattributed comments added to it. When I put it back, the entire thread was deleted. Two threads asking why the threads were deleted were also deleted?
If there is some good reason for this, I would appreciate an explanation why. If I or someone else has transgressed in some way, also, please let me know. People spend a lot of time and effort on these threads, I am sure Ted is not moderating them down, so I think some explanation needs be made (private if necessary, but preferable, publically so others will know, too).
I repeat that these threads were among the least controversial or confrontational, they pale in comparison to many previous examples that were left intact.

I see mine titled “Hunting” is still there and it is almost a year old.

Several of my posts not included in the two threads mentioned are missing. I am not overly concerned except for Brett's comment that text was altered in one of his posts. It is most likely an indexing problem in the data base. I hope Sparky chimes in and let's us know what is up. It we have a disgruntled poster hacking the place, that is not good. Since it was one of my threads that disappeared, maybe a password change is in order.

At the other end of the scale, I can no longer delete my posts entirely. I can only delete the content in the post and replace it with at least one word. So not only is someone deleting posts but they are also keeping you from deleting your own posts. I guess they want some people gone and want some to stick around.

Not 2 minutes ago, I saw a reply from Sparky here on this thread, and then it disappeared. There is also a missing post in the Scale section by Paul Smith on April 5th, 20022.

I think Bob knows what to do and where it is coming from.

That is irritating. I often post a simple comment on a thread that I am interested in but have nothing to offer, so I just "flag" it with that comment then delete it later when the thread goes south. Now I am stuck checking on "Did To" and Did Not". Sucks.

I thought moderators were the only ones who could delete posts after notifying the person their post will be deleted if the person does not delete it I know in the past I have been requested to delete a post I made. D>K

Now we have a new wrinkle. You can't edit your own posts.

There is a better way to do that. :)
Just above the first post, on the right, select "notify" to follow a thread. The same button will then become "unnotify"
When you want to stop following, select that.
edit - just noticed that the same buttons appear at the bottom of the page as well, right next to the "reply" button :-[

That problem is now fixed.

I deleted my own post because I decided to go another route.
Yes I know who deleted the tread and I am working on that too
