Dee Rice Pinto and Help!!!
« on: February 22, 2025, 11:42:44 AM »
I just did an electric conversion to the profile Dee Rice "Pinto".  This is also known as the Dick Mathis Pinto.  It is a cute little scaled down version of Dee's Oriental to a 1/2A size.  I am showing a Turnigy 2730-1300 motor.  At this time I am having a tough time finding a source for these motors or an equivalent.  I am enlisting the guys on this forum to provide a source for these 1/2A motors.
I'll attach the PDF files for those who want to look at this little cutie.

Wow! That makes life a whole lot easier for me. Thanks, Mr. Paul.

Mr. Pat, I thought the Pinto was a full fuse job. I do like the easier profile fuselage. Is it the same wing as the full fuse kitted one?
Thanks for posting the PDF. This one is getting saved to the library.

Your welcome. It’s on the website and covers all size IC conversions.

Pat,
I ave used a 2305-1050 ( well, 4 of them) on an 85 ounce plane using g 8*6 ,APC  electric props and it went 5.1 laps! They are amazingly strong little motors. And no harm was done to them in that experiment!

Hey, guys, Sorry for not checking back earlier.  First of all, I do have the Pinto (#92) in a full bodied arrangement.  I think I need to look more closely at the Badass line.  If the motors are not too heavy, they might be a good 1/2A electric replacement. The BA 2305-1050 is less than a half an ounce heavier ad has a lot of really nice qualities.  I think I'll get one in and test it out on my little Shark 202.  Might be really great and swinging a 7-6 would be pretty cool.  Nothing like too much traction in the corners.
