Hi all, Im back I disappeared down a rabbit hole when my daughter and grandson returned from a broken marriage 2.5 years ago.I lost my work room and personal time , hardly any flying, definitely no building. Any way I have my work room back and ready to build.

What to build?

I have asset of Blue Max plans and a set of Toccata plans .They both are 60" wing span but completely different in fuselage length and wing area, The Toccata is bigger al round with a much thicker wing section  . The standard Blue Max plans I think is for a 46 size engine on a pipe and the Toccata is for a 60 size engine with muffler. From my minimal research I found the Blue Max eternal is a 60 IC size .I brought up the Eternal on my laptop and the plans look just about identical between the Blue Max and The BM eternal .Can anybody tell me the main difference between the plans ? I found my Blue Max paper plans have the ability for plane assemble wing and tail plane at the field and the eternal plans down loaded in smaller scale on my lap top appear that it cant , also fuselage undercarriage and wing mount undercarriage are different. I like the look of the Blu Max so I'd love to build a Blue Max but 60 size to put my refurbished super tiger ST60 in .Can I use the BM 46 size and install my ST 60 in it or should I try to down load or purchase full size eternal 60 plans ?.

I'm pretty familiar with the Blue Max.   I think the Eternal version is not really too different-  likely have the same wing-perhaps less the take apart.   Kaz flew later copies with .60s and also I believe the K77.   It is large enough.   One thing you might try to do is shorten the nose whatever little bit you can considering fuel capacity just to allow for a little more weight in engine, fuel and larger props.   Also check the side view of the plans to see if there will be enough prop clearance for the .60 size prop.   You MIGHT need to lengthen the landing gear a bit.   In the same vain you could push the stab back just a little-not more than 1/2" in this case to help with the heavier nose.   These aren't radical changes but rather just tweaks to an already good airplane.   If you don't HAVE TO make it take apart it will help to keep it light without the extra hardware, blocks and plywood needed in the take apart version.  You should stiffen the nose with carbon fiber doped on the outside.   The Tiger is known as a shaker so keep that in mind.   I typically carbon the whole fuselage on all my airplanes which also helps keep the rear fuselage from twisting under wind/stab loads.

Its fearfully modern . Its designed since the war .  S?P

HOWEVER , id bludge a cheap ' used ' somethingorother , and give it a go . FIRST .

Ones CONTROLS , and the flap stiffness - Matched 1000 % Q Grain FIRM wood . or C F tissue , on em . Theres zillions of details on a top stunt ship .

Sparky may well have ALL THAT covered , on his videos . to see what your infor . Guide You Through the Process . ES . Then some people spend thrice as long doing the finishing as building . Oh dear .

Whatever , As long as the nose dosnt fall apart with the S T .60 vibration . ands the RIGHT LENGTH . for korekt C G .

Yr ' Big Jim ' nose constructions designed to old the foices . https://library.modelaviation.com/article/cardinal-stunt-89#&gid=2&pid=1 might pay to do da knows like that .
Unless your running the motor soft .( Like the foist link ) .AND F' Glass cloth back to the spar . Over It .

Just for everyone's reference, the Blue Max Eternal (RSM kit) lists:

Wingspan 60"
Wing area 679 sq. in.
The root rib measures out to about 2" thick
Engines .61 to .76
The aluminum gear is fuselage-mounted
The drawing measures out a 13" diameter prop, so I'm assuming there is good ground clearance for that
No take-apart design or hardware is shown in the kit. It is big, so you put it in a big vehicle
The kit plans do show an electric nose installation if that is what makes your world go around....

PS--ok, it looks like Monsieur Spencer beat me to the post, and used to couple of pictures in order to avoid several thousand words. Thanks, Matt!

Yip .

If eee candoit at 60 ounce. He's Fine .

If eee doesit at 80 ounces , I hope He's 6 ft. , 20 stone , and Works out , ors a Tree Feller .

As in ' Hang On ' or itll getcha . They can pull a trifle . So , 2 kilo / 72 ounce seems about the limit , unless you lift weights regular , like .

SO , one must have good timber . and WATCH THE WEIGHT .  H^^

AND ; Running In your TIGRE , all castor . Initial Flights 22 to 24 % . we're told .
Also Told .46 way more grunt on CASTOR . by reputable renowned Tigrest .

So , watch the controls . WATCH THE LEADOUTS ( Dont wanem to fall off ) put stiffness where its needed . Spars etc . Yr FUSE. mounted udercarrage is way saner , for a knockabout .
Wing gear can crack up the wing .  Gettum .018 LINES , less elasitication . good Andle Connectors cetra . They can try n take you off your feet , if it starts blowing / gusts & things .  H^^

Not to mention adequate glueing at the bellcrank mount & centersection ! .
