Does anyone have a source for custom-made decal, transfers, etc?
I need some wing art for a plane I'm restoring.
Thanks for any help.

If you have a color printer you can buy decal paper and make your own.

Inkjet waterslide decals do work and will give you a decent product, I used clear back for the black, and white back for the colour, the black comes out very crisp but on the colour (Sunoco) if you look closely you can see lines, still from five feet they do look nice, if you're looking for the best product I'd copy what you want onto a stick and go to a Staples or similar place and have them print them with a laser printer.
Good luck.

Yes,
And she makes great paint masks also.

Avaiojet is really good at that. He made me some vintage AMA decals that were great.

Did you spell that right? Do you have a link?

See reply #6, He the man.
Motorman,
Why are you being so nice to me? I cry easily. LL~
There must be something you need?
But thank you for your kind words. It's appreciated.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
I will follow up and post the results.
I did try something called Dowsabel, an inkjet waterslide decal transfer paper.
Very disappointing results. :'( :'(

Hi Bob,
You might look at this post on the making of decals: https://stunthanger.com/smf/paint-and-finishing/attempting-water-slide-decals/msg600212/#msg600212 (https://stunthanger.com/smf/paint-and-finishing/attempting-water-slide-decals/msg600212/#msg600212)

Does Callie do water-slide decals or pressure-sensitive vinyl? Same question for Charles ...
Thanks!

I only do peel n stick vinyl but I care about what takes place in this Forum.
Why pay a third party for stuff you can do yourself. Team up!
All you need is the decal paper, text or art. There's plenty of talented people with printers and software who are modelers in this Forum and can produce lettering and art for your models.
And you know files can be mailed to each other. Nothing difficult about it. Some guys already make their own stuff.
Ask around about my pricing, you think I make money doing this? LL~
Help each other get things done.

Thanks for the advice, Charles.
I've done many ink-jet decals, for the most part with very good results.
I recently purchased as brand called Dowsabel and they were pretty bad.
Lots of haloing and many just did not stick - fell right off.
Can you recommend a good brand of clear decal paper for ink-jet printers?
THANKS again,
Bob Z.

Bob,
I really wish I could but I don't do decals, I just do vinyl. I will say, the higher the resolution the better.
I suggested the guy's "team up."
Make a list of the papers which have been used and talk about the results.
Process of elimination will yield the best paper and methods.
I have strong feelings about using 3rd party people. The expense, sure, but doing things by yourself is great.
Although I provide vinyl graphics for modelers, I've always said you can get all the vinyl you want for free at your local sign shop.
Said this many times. Guys are already skilled with a #11 blade, so the cutting part might take a bit of time, but it can be done. Eventually you can build speed.
We used to cut vinyl this way long before there were vinyl cutters. True.
