Has anyone succeeded in creating waterslide decals made with Ink Jet printers of late?
I tried years ago and it was a disaster.
I bought a couple from Tom Morris around that time and screwed them up too.
Thanks

Rich,
I did a set of Chipmunk decals that turned out okay. Need to be sure to spray some Krylon clear before exposure to water.

I have had good luck with Testors White Decal water slide paper. The hardest part is getting the print area set up. After printing it I spray light coats of clear dope on it. Then apply it to the model. Clear dope the whole airplane. People say the colors fade pretty bad in the sun light. I spray Max 2K clear on the decals and none of mine have faded at all.

I've had good success. If you bought finished decals from Tom Morris and had problems, then perhaps it was your handling? Or did you buy decal paper?
At any rate -- I used decal paper from some coffee cup company. I just followed the directions and had success. My only mistake was buying matt-finish lacquer; the matt-finish was accomplished in a way that printed through the dope I painted over the decal, and required some careful sanding to smooth things out.

Rich,
I've had good luck with Papilio products and inkjet printing. I think I first heard about these from Windy.

Thanks
I'll try again...
It seems to me I was using a manufacturer provided setting agent...I'm going to run a bunch of 1/16" FAA numbers.

Get some panes of glass or smooth coffee cups and try it out there, first!
