I have heard the ugly rumor that it is being with drawn from the market. >:( I could not find it at the local Wally World today. No longer on the web site at the local big box stores. Found if on line & bought a couple of years supply. Others have had problems with it; I have not. Much more convenient than the crockpot & antifreeze.

the dollar stores have it in stock, better get it now..

I use the Hoppes gun cleaner in spray or foaming spray.
Works great.
Take the motor apart, remove the bearings (if so equipped (I replace at this time anyways))
spray the motor down real good in an old cereal bowl
let it set for about 1/2 hr.
use a new tooth brush and scrub lightly letting the brush do the work
and viola, clean as a whistle
it is non toxic and bio degradable to boot

Yeah Hoppe's works. I used to use it until Burt Brokaw told me about Power Dissolver...It definitely works better but you have to be a little careful about the time in solution.
I've gotta go buy several bottles to stock up!
Somebody probably got it on their hands and left it there...Not a good idea. Use rubber gloves when you use it!

So why is it being banned?
-
Not necessarily banned, just discontinued by Proctor & Gamble. Actually happened a couple of years ago, but many places are just now starting to run out (which kind of explains the Mfr. decision to discontinue it). If you search Amazon for it, there is still some available at RIDICULOUS prices - like a two-pack for $50, or several single bottles for $40 and up. Many of the Amazon marketers also have it marked 'Out of Stock' though, too.

(Double posted, somehow)

Its OK with me. I don't necessarily like the stuff anyway. :-[ Anything that turns aluminum grey is OUT, AFAIC. n1

Well tried all the outlets in KC area, even the ones that listed it. Guess it will be the old Crock Pot from now on.

If it turns aluminum grey you simply left it on too long! Even Anti-freeze will do that if you leave it in too long or get it too hot!
