Title: DAVE ROYER
Post by: Roy DeCamara on April 26, 2025, 10:18:48 PM
It is my sad duty to report that long time C/L stunt flier Dave Royer flew West this morning and departed the bonds of this mortal earth.  Dave was well known in the Northwest as a good friend to model aviation.  I will miss our weekly breakfast meetings.  My condolences to Dave's wife, Alice Cotton Royer and Dave's family.  Rest my friend, you have earned it.  Sincerely,  Roy DeCamara.

This is a very hard loss to accept. Dave was my longtime friend, confidant and co-conspirator in all things in the Stunt world and in life. Dave was an old fashioned modeler who did things the old fashioned way and took great pleasure in it. I always enjoyed going to contests with him or being down in his basement shop and experiencing the sights and smells there and enjoying his particular brand of humor and philosophy about our hobby and life. A staunch silk span and dope guy he would pick up a freshly covered wing and, being the old drummer that he was, tap his finger lightly on an open bay and exclaim “what a beautiful sound that is”. Or open the cover on a jar of clear dope and say what a delightful smell that is. I’m really going to miss you Dave but grateful to have had our time together sharing this ride through the Stunt generation. Sleep in peace my friend.

Oh, my...I was just thinking about seeing Dave Royer at the big go in Roseburg, as last year. No words, except my most sincere sympathies to Alice and his closest friends and club members.  Steve
