I use so much of it I used to buy it in large bottles, but I had a 2 year hiatus during some medical problems and the stuff set. When I started back up with the shop, I used that glue and it was fine.
You can squeeze the bottle to eliminate the air in the bottle and that's very effective. I've never tried the upside down bit, but if there's still air in there, it will form a skin anyway. But the skin will be on the bottom of the bottle when you turn it over. That's a definite advantage.
Clancy, there's an additional benefit to moisture on one side of the hardwood. Not only does it act as a bit of a catalyst, it opens the pores of the wood to allow further penetration. With the oily exotic hardwoods, that adds a great amount of strength. I have used it on walnut and maple without the moisture and it worked fine, but I far prefer the manufacturer's instructions. (I was too lazy to fill my spray bottle when the stuff was ready to clamp up.)
