DANDY weed removal tool for your yard, garden or flying field...
« on: September 13, 2017, 11:58:25 AM »
IF you don't want to use chemicals on your flying field, lawn, landscaping or garden, take a look at this product. I tried it last night and it works amazingly well. It was designed specifically to remove ALL of the insidious "Dallis Grass" weed that's a plague in some areas. It works wonderfully on Dandelions as I tried them before the NW Skyraiders meeting last night at Denny's "restaurant". Their lawn is better now than it was! Watch the videos, or at least one of them...definitely not professionally done, but the darned thing works exactly as shown, and I was skeptical. Being able to cut a plug from a slab of sod is a huge bonus, IMO, and I tried that, too. Perfect for fixing up your flying field!

Designed, developed and manufactured by Stunt Grunt and NW Skyraiders member, Addis Elmore. Made in the USA, right here in Washington State. I have no financial interest in the product. I'll be buying myself one sometime soon, and don't expect (hope, maybe!) a discount.   y1  Steve

Very useful looking tool . The Dallis Grass weed looks like paspalum (Paspalum dilitatum) we get here in New Zealand . It does a great job of catching your lines if you drag it across it as it starts to shot up to seed and is so tough it often damages or kinks the lines if you do not see you are 'hung up' and tug at the handle or model.
Problem I have is our scale and two circles need a spray boom but the tool would be a back saver in the vegetable garden where we don't want glyphosate .

I am completely satisfied with my dallisgrass weeder. I have a terrible problem with Dallis grass.  In the past two days I have used my weeder to remove 20 gallons of weed/plugs in about three and half hours and refilled the holes with potting soil.  I also intend to take my tool to my local Home Depot and Lowes with my recommendation.

Growing season has about ended here in Texas and I will be watching to see that removing the roots will actually kill Dallis Grass permanently.

Al

My poor Cen Tex 2.5 acres of native grass would be too white coliche looking if I dared to remove all the Johnson and Dallis weed.. main green stuff growing well....grin

But I do have a substantial investment in  three pallets of King Ranch Amerishade St. Augustine around the back yard patios well shaded under a lot of trees ... this tool looks like the ticket to hold the crap grasses back

How do you get rid of moles? Use Gopher Getter. A tablespoon in the tunnels every couple feet

Howdy All,

Summer before last (2016) Addis showed me the prototype of this tool in action on my front yard. I was surprised to see how much the wicked stuff I had! But Addis went about the business of taking it out one plant at a time and then refilling the holes with a little dirt and a few grass seed. (Notice I outsourced the job to him. lol) As we took out the weeds I could see the runners being pulled in as he turned the tool. Very ingenious.

Then last year only a very litle bit of it came back - maybe 10% of what I had the prior year. Presumably some weeds we'd missed came back or some seeds had germinated and new plants got started. So out came tool again and the weeds are all gone.

Keep 'em tight!

Hello Stunt World,
I wish to thank Steve Helmick for starting this forum about the Dallisgrassweeder and all those who have contributed their ideas to the same.  Al Rabe plans to sell the idea to hardware stores, now that is effort in the highest order and Al your efforts are appreciated.
The Dallisgrassweeder is the ideal gift for the ideal lawn.  No-Chemicals use = Dallisgrassweeder a weed surgeon that will remove ANY weed from the ground precisely targeting Rhizome(s), roots, stems and seeds keeping the weed intact so it may not be allowed to re-grow.  By the way, the Rhizome is to the weed what the bulb is to the Tulip, allowing it’s periodical return and chemicals do not kill the Rhizome(s).  The hazardous chemical will turn the surface of a weed brown and appear to be dead but that Rhizome remains and ready to put on another growth ring next period while the chemical runoff when it rains or by a sprinkler systems finds it way to the gutter, creeks, rivers, lakes, and our drinking water……..
For many of the ways the tool may be used please go the website below and view the videos:

         https://www.dallisgrassweeder.com

The Dallisgrassweeder is a very tough tool yet only weighs in at 3 pounds (roughly the weight of a .40 size stunt ship however the dallisgrassweeder will not fly the pattern) and it carries warranty to be free from any defects in material and workmanship for two years even to the commercial user.  The tool is serviceable as well, bend or break a bolt by over pressing an underground object such as a tree root or rock, simply cut the bolt off, back it out saving the lock washer(s), and replace it.  Most times a bent bolt may be straightened by unscrewing one of the handles, sliding the handle over the bent bolt and straightening the bolt.
