Just been watching the news and seeing all the bad weather that rolled over Dallas.
First time I saw a 40 ft semi trailers flying.
Hope our friends in the Dallas area are OK.

We were lucky. The rough stuff went right around us here in North East Dallas. I heard on the radio 23 tornadoes and no major injuries or deaths. That is pretty amazing. There may be some more reports coming. So that could change. I sure hope. Have to give props to the weather coverage around here. They are on top of any crazy weather we get.

How are the guy's in the D/ FW area after all the Tornados? Hope everyone is O K ...

With those guys, they are probably out flying in it.

As of this moment, replies rec'd from David Russum, Doug Moon, Tom Niebuhr, Don Hutchinson and Bill Lee -- all of whom are okay. Still waiting to hear from Dave Ek (Arlington) and Al Rabe plus Dale & Linda-Bob Gleason.

I got an email from Kelly Wilson that flys with the guys in Dallas.
Here is part of his email.
"Dallas and Arlington really got hit hard. They estimate as many as twelve tornados. There were three on the ground in Dallas at once. My son lives there and tells me the area around the DMAA flying field was hit pretty hard too, but what can you do to a grass circle. I hope all the guys from DMAA are ok."

Dale and Linda-Bob checked in. They're okay.
-
Glad that everyone is ok.
Thanks Mike.

Dave Ek and Al Rabe also report 'all is well'.

Hope Lonestar Balsa is okay as one of the photos was from Lancaster area. H^^

I just called the shop and they said they are o.k. Mike lives in Mesquite, close by, but I haven't heard back from him.

Just talked to Wootons. Mike is ok, no damage, but his home phone is not working yet.

Any news from the Olivers?

Bill Wilson said his plane was getting a bit light on the overheads, but he thinks he can trim it out..... H^^

I live about 3 miles north of the flying field in Garland. The neighborhood looked fine when I got home Tuesday evening. No downed branches or any other signs of trouble. The hobby shop in Carrollton basically had the bad stuff pass to the east AND west of us. We observed some rotation in the clouds, but got nothing worse than moderate rain and some pea-size hail. We could see some of the serious stuff off in the distance...
-
That's amazing...and thankful. On TV we were watching softball-sized hail.....roofs torn off....major damage in several areas. So glad that none of our modeling friends were hurt, or worse.

Doc, just an FYI, Lonestar isn't in Lancaster anymore. They moved to Forney (I think, haven't been there yet) after the fire some years ago.

Right on, Bill.
Not to mention that Forney was hit harder than Lancaster.
Heard from Mike Greb: all o.k. with him. Has anybody heard from Patrick Hempel?

Bill i checked with Patrick and he is ok.
