When is the next contest at Dallas, Tx?
-
The schedule will available soon.
Meanwhile, the "Fidget Digit" New Years Day fun fly will be at Hobby Park in Garland. Always a crazy good time that ends up at Chubby's Restaurant when flying is done.
-
Oh, MAN, Tom! Dale is going to CRUCIFY you for mangling the name! ;D
-
Thanks for the intro Bill...
It was explained in detail at the Christmas Party at Don and Flora Hutchinson's last night. To wit...
The welcoming New Year Fun Fly, championed by Tom Niebuhr on his arrival in town years ago, is neither the "Frozen Finger", nor is it the "Frigid Digit". Those are well-known and respected titles, heralded throughout the world of control line.
The Dallas Miniature Aircraft Association's title of its New Year's gathering does not refer to simply a "digit" on a person's hand, rather, the whole person.
What type person would venture out in mid-winter to fly on a frozen, wind-blown, ice and snow covered field? Who would dare attempt to start a cold Fox in such conditions? In some mind's eye, only an idiot, of course, or "idjit" in some folks' vernacular. A "Frigid Idiot".
Hence we get...."Frijididjit". Now, what's so difficult about that?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the DMAAers to all those who pick up the handle, or think about it, or help others do so. Fly safely,
dg
Edit: In perusing previous newsletters, I notice the editor hasn't spelled the "Fridgididjit" the same way twice!

Back to the thread...the next Dallas contest will be the Presidents' Day Contest, February 18/19. OTS, Classic, Profile Stunt, and Racing. The actual Racing events to be determined soon.
dg
Stunt Events are to be on day one, the 18th, Howard.
-
On which day of the P. Day contest will each stunt event be?
-
Thanks Dale.

Sorry Dale.
I let the spell checker Fidget with the Digits. We have had crazy fun over the years.
On many occasions Dave EK stole the show with his V-22 and his ceiling fan.
Great memories. Seems like yesterday that it all started. I had also forgotten that our son Craig was at the first one.
