Dale Gleason won his first 'First Place trouphy' in Expert today in Albuquerque. He told me a couple of years ago that when he moved up to Expert that his score automatically improved by 25 points. Amazing. Seriously though, Richard Oliver has coached Dale and has done such a fine job that Dale beat Richard in the second round. Congratulations to Dale. There are doubts that dale's head will fit in the Suburban for the drive home tomorrow.

Will send car trailer for Dale's LL~ Head

That is quite an accomplishment! When someone can top R.O. they have really arrived. Congratulations to "Ole Dad" and to R.O. for the great teaching/coaching. Maybe the swelling will have gone down by the time "OD" comes to Baton Rouge!!

Knowing Ole Dad I don't think there is a worry about him getting big headed. He has Linda Bob to knock him down a notch or two. Congratulations for the win Ole Dad. Now Richard will have to try harder. H^^

Dale,

I knew it was only a matter of time. I have been watching Dale fly for a while now, and he has just been getting better and better. Way to go Dale. "You Da Man". Not only a great flyer, but also a great builder.

Wish I could have been there rather than running a 60" cnc vtl this weekend.

Old Dog? I am not sure who tagged you with that moniker, Dale, but you are as young as you fly. Congrats!

The high altitude air in ABQ affects motor aspiration in unusual ways. It also seems to have an affect on humans, making them unusually friendly and accomodating to visitors from lower climes.
Thank you so much, Russ Gritzo, Jim Snelson, Gary Marchand, Dick Perry, all the staff and their wonderful ladies for their incredible efforts in insuring a wonderful time for all. Fellowship, Friendship, Food, Hot Air Balloons, Pterglyphs, they have it all and share it freely.
We're home safe after eleven hours on the road, arriving at 0215, reminds me of the all-nighter HNL-ORD.

Way to go Dale!!! I had no doubts. Trimming and coaching and practice pays off doesn't it. Congratulations Dale.

Great Job Dale ...
..... I knew 25yrs ago when I saw you flying at Dallas that you had talent.
-
I guess I can't email him anymore now that he is a "big stunt star". I guess its out to Rodeo Drive, and your own personal P.R. manager for you.
-
Congrats Dale!!
That is quite an accomplishment.
??Was Richard sandbagging to make his student feel good????

An automatic 25 point boost for becoming an "expert" is modest. I've seen people move up to expert and get an additional 50 points per flight, but their pattern is the same. I guess it doesn't matter because the "expert factor" applies to everyone.
